Regé-Jean Page On Representing The World As It Could Be At The NAACP Image Awards 2021

Regé-Jean Page talks backstage after winning the NAACP award for outstanding actor in a drama series for his work on Netflix’s “Bridgerton.”

When asked what he learned from playing the Duke of Hastings Page responded, “smile more” and hug people people more. The first-time NAACP winner said he sees his job as a representative job. “When you get on screen, when you get on stage, when you participate in putting culture into the world you’re representing the world around you. You’re representing the political climate around you, you’re representing the people who live through the world that we all share. And you aid in reflecting it back and showing either as it is or as it could be.”
